Mentorship Program

The ON DPG is proud to announce our new Mentorship Program! Our program is almost ready to launch, but in order to make this a success, we need YOU to be a Mentor! This program is an exciting opportunity to practice-share, enhance clinical skills, and help promote the need for oncology dietitians.

If you are a dietitian with at least 3 years of oncology nutrition experience, please consider volunteering. With just a few hours of your time, you can have a lasting impression on a dietitian newer to the field, and help our profession continue to grow!

Descriptions for both options are below:

• Informal – Mentor completes a profile and submits a photo. Both are placed on the Mentorship Program page. Mentees view available Mentors, and reach out via email to the ON DPG Mentor of their choice. Frequency of contact and duration of the partnership is intended to be infrequent and short-term. Mentors apply by completing a short form and a photo.

• Formal - Traditional option. Mentors submit an application and a photo. Coordinators match a Mentee with a Mentor that coincides with the Mentee’s needs. Frequency and duration of the partnership is dependent on the agreement of both parties; however, typically lasts 6 months.
