Please join the ON DPG to discuss a recently published article entitled Randomized Noninferiority Trial of a Liberalized Diet Versus the Neutropenic Diet in Hematopoietic Stem-Cell Transplant Patients and Patients with Acute Leukemia .
The article was published in December 2025 in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the flagship journal of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Since, many oncology dietitians have asked if this article is practice-changing or if current recommendations for good food safety practices remain sufficient to keep our patients safe.
We have asked two ON DPG BMT Subunit volunteers and authors of the recent article Best Practice Considerations in Nutritional Care for Adult Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation to lead a journal club for oncology RDs to address questions and provide critical analysis of the article in the context of other published literature and current clinical practice environments.
Attendees will leave with actionable discussion points to share with their patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary providers when caring for patients receiving hematopoietic cell transplants.
