Oncology Nutrition Toolkit

The Oncology Nutrition Toolkit contains the Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) protocol and documentation forms, based on the information from Oncology Evidence-Based Nutrition Practice Guideline. This guideline is available to all ADA members on the Evidence Analysis Library at: www.adaevidencelibrary.com. The guideline and toolkit information are developed using ADA’s systematic process of analyzing scientific research.

The ON Toolkit was designed to be used either with or without the Oncology Evidence-Based Nutrition Practice Guideline.

The documents in the ON Toolkit uses ADA’s Nutrition Care Process, for adults. The information provided will assist the RD to individualize nutrition care and provide practical nutrition recommendations, based on current state of science for nutrition care for adults with cancer.

The seven MNT protocols clearly define the level, content and frequency of nutrition care that is appropriate for a disease or condition in typical out-patient settings. The MNT protocol for Hematological Cell Transplants have been developed for in-patient and out-patient use.
